| TRANSLATION AND LOCALIZATION Carasmatic Productions has in-house translation capabilities, as well as top-notch translation partners. David Garcia, a native of Spain, translates and localizes projects for European Spanish as well as Latin American Spanish. He has found that many translations purporting to be localized for Europe are actually Latin American Spanish with a "th" thrown in for flavor! Out of pride if nothing else, he makes sure his EU Spanish translations would pass muster at La Complutense. David also speaks Portuguese, Galician, and Italian. Joan Dans holds bachelors and masters degrees in language from Harvard University. The emphasis of her studies was the aesthetics of Japanese-to-English literary translation. She also speaks Spanish, and has studied French, Hebrew, Greek, and Bahasa Indonesia. Since teaming up with David, she has learned a few choice words in Coruñes. For large translation projects and for languages out of the reach of our principals, we partner with versioning experts around the world to bring our clients the most thoughtful and accurate translations possible. In addition, we employ native language consultants to attend recording and editing sessions, coaching the talent and making sure that we get the perfect read of our clients' copy.
